The Casa Julián de Tolosa was a simple fruit shop at the beginning, which then developed step by step from sandwiches and small delicatessen into one of the best meat restaurants in Spain.

The restaurant itself is still a humble and very charming place - there should be more of this kind these days. For us, Casa Julián de Tolosa is the quintessence of a Basque asador.

The best beef from local breeds prepared in an incomparable way. In this case, old oxen with a high amount of melting and flavourful fat, accompanied by the incomparable peppers from the grill or the sensational local asparagus.

That´s all it takes to be happy. Not quite - I forgot a bottle of Rioja.
